Student Life at USM provides a welcoming environment, support and advocacy for all students. Our staff works to foster a safe, respectful and inclusive campus community for YOU!

Whether you spend your time on the Gorham or Portland campus we serve as a gateway to co-curricular involvement, diversity and multicultural outreach, wellness education, leadership development, campus wide activities and University traditions.

The Portland Campus is the hub for the USM Commuter Community. If you are commuting to the Portland, you'll find community through programs, events and staff outreach. Look for activities happening in the Woodbury Campus Center as well as other locations around campus.

Gorham provides students with a residential experience. The Gorham Events Board (GEB) has events each week ranging from comedians and magicians, to stress relief nights and laser tag. The Brooks Student Center is the most happening place around; you don't miss out on an opportunity to check it out!

News & Events

Gorham Police have command of a situation at Main and School Streets that reportedly involves an individual with a weapon. The situation is described as a stand-off, is isolated, and no one to our knowledge has been injured. At this time our primary concern is your safety. Please avoid the area involved until notified that the situation has been resolved. There is a member of my staff in each of the residence hall lobbies who is available to answer your questions and to offer support and connect you to Counseling Services if needed. If unable to access these staff and need support, staff may be contacted at 207-780-5940. We will update in one hour.
Portland Student Life is taking applications now for its 2012-2013 Work/Study positions.
