Spin It!

Classic Yoga

Summer Semester 2016 - Yoga Tuesday 12 pm - 1:15 pm

Make your day with the noontime yoga class.  A gentle to moderate class in the traditional (Iyengar) hatha yoga style. Suitable for beginners as well as more advanced students this all-level class will increase flexibility, endurance, focus and concentration while it tones and strengthens.  Regular, restorative, and relaxation poses and guided visualizations are all included. Cross Training

Dates:             May 16, 2016 – August 24, 2016 (2 day a week offering)

When:              M-W     5:00p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Cost:                Free or Drop in rate
This program includes cardiovascular and anaerobic exercises, strength training, and plyometrics! This is an advanced group exercise fitness program. Drop in as part of the group exercising together boot camp style! Instructor: Maureen Higgins.

Cross Training

Cross Training class for ALL fitness abilities, beginners through advanced levels. 
Strength, cardiovascular and flexibility training are incorporated into every class.
Exercise gives you more energy, more vitality and keeps the weight off!
Stay fit, have fun and help stay stress free. Drop in 1 or 2 days a week, as often as you can! Fit feels good! Come check out Cross Training! You won’t regret it!

Indoor Walk/Jog Drop In AM or Noon Opttions:

Indoor Walk/Jog Drop In: Mon - Wed –Fri, 6am-9am and Tues – Thurs 12pm-1pm
Open gym time for walking/ jogging.  The main gym is 12 laps to a mile.

Pickleball:
A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

Drop in over winter session to join an ongoing group playing pickleball

Classic Yoga - Thursday 1:15 PM - This hatha flow yoga class is suitable for all levels, including those with no yoga experience.  "Flow" indicates fluid movement with breath and transitions between pose sequences versus long static holding.  In general the class will begin with a centering exercise and or breathwork followed by sun salutations, standing poses, balancing poses, seated poses and ending with backbends, an inversion or deeper hip opening and savasana.  We will focus on classical techniques, stretching and strengthening to enhance mental clarity and relaxation.  No prior yoga experience is necessary.

All Levels Vinyasa Flow Yoga - Tuesday Evening - Using a mind-focusing breathing technique and an intentional sequence of postures, Sarah teaches a creative slow vinyasa-based practice which incorporates some principles of Iyengar Yoga. The result is an athletic and peaceful, invigorating and calming, fun and challenging yoga experience. This class will empower students and allow them to experience full self-acceptance, outer strength, and inner calm.

Provant Health Coach Weigh In Wednesday! offerings on the Portland Campus

Join your health coach every Wednesday to weigh in not only your body but your thoughts,
ideas and experiences too! Each session will begin with a weigh in for accountability followed
by discussion on wellness topics of interest. The informal meetings will be held from
12:15 pm to 1:00 pm each Wed beginning 1/20/2016, in the multipurpose room at Sullivan Complex.  For more information feel free to contact the health coach directly, Lacey Bouchard, RD, LDN, lbouchard@provanthealth.com 

Women’s Strength & Power Hour: 
The Women’s Only Fitness Hour will focus on providing women with all the essentials to get in shape.  Circuit strength training for increasing muscular strength, bone density, core stability, balance and mobility. With cool down stretching at the end. Get all the benefits of a good balanced work-out. Modifications can be made.  Limited to 12 participants.
