Orchestra Levels

Youth participants are placed in one of the following orchestras according to the Sunday, July 27th audition results. The balance needs of ensembles are taken into consideration in assigning students to orchestras.

  • Junior Orchestra - minimum reading level of D/G Major. Students through grades 5 plus middle school students with minimal experience and/or private study.
  • Intermediate Orchestra - for advanced middle school students plus those high school students who are not ready for the challenge of the senior program.
  • Senior Orchestra - for experienced high school students and advanced younger students, when needed to balance sections.
  • Solo Recital Performances - students who would like to perform at the Academy's solo recital must submit a tape by July 2nd of the entire composition to be performed. Students will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the Academy accompanist. All levels of ability are encouraged to apply.

There are additional musical activities such as fiddling, singing, etc.

Music teachers and adult amateur players can spend the week observing our outstanding faculty and participating in various classes or all offerings in the schedule.
