Want to do more with sustainability here at USM? Check out this list of ways to get involved. Please contact us if you have an opportunity you'd like to share!

  • Enivronmental Science Major - USM has a growing Environmental Science  degree program with lots of interesting classes and opportunities.
  • Applied Energy / Energy Management - USM is developing a new Energy curriculum (currently composed of a minor and certificate) to give students and professionals more tailored energy knowledge.
  • Work with Dining Services on food issues or take a tour of their food-producing greenhouse. Email Dining's Sustainability Coordinator Kayla Bubar, visit her Sustainability Blog and check out the USM Dining Services Website on Sustainability
  • Renewable Energy Club - Join this student organization if you are interested in learning about, utilizing, and furthering the cause of renewable and alternative energies.
  • Southern Maine Outdoor Adventure Club - Email President Johnny Wise (john.p.wise@maine.edu) or check out the USM Outing Club on Facebook.
  • Sustain Maine - A group of motivated student leaders from colleges and Universities all over the state working together to affect environmental change
  • Tobacco Committee - This USM Committee is open to staff and students who are interested in the wellness and environmental implications by tobacco use on campus. Email Suzanne Roy to get involved. 
  • Experience Internship & Job Finder - USM utilizes this service to list job and internship offers to its students
