Concentration in Construction Management
[CM Minor]
This concentration is designed to prepare graduates for advancement opportunities in construction-related industries primarily as superintendents, project managers, estimators, construction managers, and project executives. Students in this concentration take courses that emphasize theories and applications of planning, managing, directing, organizing and controlling construction operations.
This concentration is for students who are
• interested in pursuing a rewarding career in construction management, or
• currently licensed in a building trade, or
• experienced construction workers wishing to expand their job responsibilities, or
• graduates of a construction related associates degree program
To satisfy the technical competency requirements, non-traditional students with construction related trades experience, may complete a portfolio assessment based on the State of Maine standards for Secondary Vocational Education. To satisfy the technical competency requirements transfer students must complete a construction –related associate degree program from a regionally-accredited community or technical college (2+2 articulation agreements are currently in place with Central and Southern Maine Community Colleges).
