Telecommunications, located in room 4 Payson Smith Hall on the Portland campus, provides a variety of telephone services to all residence hall students, staff and faculty. You may also obtain the USM Card; the official University of Southern Maine identification card, at the Telecommunications Office. 

REPORT telephone troubles, outages or service problems to the HelpDesk at Ext. 4029. The Helpdesk will create a ticket and send it to Telecommunications. After hours, please leave your name and phone number, location (building and room number) and a brief description of the problem.

If requesting department long distance authorization codes, cellular phones service or a  cellular loaner phone, please print and complete the relevant form and fax/mail to our department. All forms are listed on our form page.

For NEW telephone services, or telephone technical services, telephone upgrades/accessories, and data installations & activations,  please use our on-line work order form located on the USM RT page: (log in with your MaineStreet login and password).

Update Campus Directory Information using our ON-LINE Directory Update Form, which can be submitted electronically once completed.

To review all Long Distance phone call detail previously found in Web Billing please use the Quick Link, Avotus ICM-Long Distance phone detail. Use your MaineStreet Login and Password to access. To be made manager of your department's long distance calls please contact Telecom.

Work Orders (RT)

Log in to Request Tracker (RT) for all work orders including, but not limited to, moving/installing phone and computer lines, installing new jacks (phone and/or data), ordering headsets, adding voice mail, making changes to menus, ordering handset/base cards and upgrading phones.
