TRiO UB Summer Academy

What is the UB Summer Academy?

Each summer, students are required to participate in the residential UB Summer Academy.

Students who have just finished their sophomore year will attend the Academy for a four-week academic program and students who have just finished their freshmen and junior years will attend a one-week intensive program.

Students stay in Woodward Hall on  USM’s Gorham campus with a roommate, are supervised by Upward Bound staff, take academic or college preparatory courses, eat in the dining hall, and learn first-hand about college life.  Summer activities also include college and career exploration, cultural and recreational activities, leadership skills building, and community service.
