Veteran Student Heath Bouffard Receives Maine Association of Broadcasters Award

Heath Bouffard has been granted the Maine Association of Broadcasters Award for the 2013-2014 academic year.  Heath was chosen as a result of nomination from the communication and media studies faculty at USM.  He is a junior pursuing a degree in media studies.

Bouffard has been in the Maine National Guard for 13 years, serving as an engineer and a unit public affairs officer. He tentatively will be deployed overseas next year and is working on a year-long documentary, “Secondary Mission,” about deployment. He also has started his own photography business, Exposed Shutter Media. Follow his mission on his site here.

USM is currently waiving our application fee and is also pleased to offer in-state tuition rates to all U.S. Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers, regardless of state of residency.  One of the following documents is necessary for eligibility: VA Certificate of Eligibility, DD-214 (Honorable Discharge), or a Military ID/CAC.
