Ariel Rogers, Women and Gender Studies Council member and Assistant Professor of Film Studies, has just published a book. Cinematic Appeals: The Experience of New Movie Technologies (Columbia University Press, 2013) examines how the experience of cinema has been conceptualized in conjunction with new technologies, including widescreen and 3D in the 1950s, digital cinema in the 1990s, and digital 3D since 2005.
