Celebrate Women's History Month at USM

Please join USM Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, USM Muslim Student Association, USM Women and Gender Studies, and Lee International on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 4 p.m. to meet Dr. Sima Samar, this year's Justice for Women speaker. The event will be held at the University Event Room, 7th Floor, Glickman Library.

The Community Conversation with Dr. Samar is one of the two opportunities to hear her talk as on Tuesday, March 18, 7 p.m. she'll give a public lecture as part of the 2014 Justice for Women Lecture Series.Though both talks are open and free to the public, RSVP's are required. Dr. Samar is a renowned human rights and women’s rights advocate from Afghanistan. She served in the Interim Administration of Afghanistan and established the first-ever Ministry of Women's Affairs. Since 2004, Dr. Samar has served as chair of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission.

The Community Conversation with Dr. Samar is organized by USM Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, USM Muslim Student Association, USM Women and Gender Studies, and Lee International.
