Winter Tuition and Fees
Payment for Winter is due within ten calendar days of registration. Non-payment may result in late fees and/or cancellation.

Please note: Winter charges can be accessed on MaineStreet. Paper billing statements will not be mailed for Winter charges.
- In Person with Cash/Check - Payment may be made at the office of Student Accounts located in Portland (Payson Smith Hall), Gorham (Corthell Hall), and LAC (119 Student Success Center). Checks should be made payable to the University of Southern Maine with the student's complete name and (7-digit) MaineStreet ID number clearly indicated on the check.
- On MaineStreet with a Debit Card, Credit Card, or E-Check (electronic check) - Students are now able to view and pay bills, self enroll in a payment plan, and authorize others to make online payments. Payment may be completed on MaineStreet through your MaineStreet Student Center via Bill + Payment Suite. USM accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Please be aware that credit and debit card payments are processed by Touchnet, an external payment processing company. Touchnet will charge 2.75% (minimum $3.00) non-refundable convenience fee for all credit or debit card payments made to a student account. There is no fee to pay with an E-Check.
A student registering for Winter can elect to pay with a payment plan. The payment plan for Winter is a 4-installment plan, with the first payment due at the time of enrollment and the next three payments due Oct 15th, Nov 15th, and Dec 15th. There is a $30 payment plan enrollment fee.
If a student is already in a Fall payment plan, any Winter charges will be added to the existing Fall plan, increasing the amount due for payments remaining.
Tuition and mandatory fees for dropped Winter classes will be reduced in accordance with the schedule below.
For purposes of calculating financial adjustments when a student withdraws from a 4-week Winter class, the attendance period begins on December 15, 2014:
100% Prior to the end of the fourth day (4 days) December 18, 2014
0% Any drop after Dec. 18, 2014
