Wil is a theatre professor at the University of Southern Maine. He holds theatre degrees from the University of Rhode Island and the University of Illinois. His university teaching experience also includes Santa Monica College in California. He has been a Kennedy Center scholarship recipient and studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Art, Michael Chekhov Studio and National Shakespeare Conservatory in New York. He frequently travels to Los Angeles, CA to research industry practices including casting, screen writing and performing.

His acting experience is broad and includes performances in theatre, television and film. Theatre roles include Snowy Eagle in Tammy and Billy-Bob's Wedding (which he also co-created and directed), Michael in Tony 'N Tina's Wedding, and Tom in the musical Pulp Alley for New York's West Bank Theatre. He is also an alumni guest artist with the State Ballet of Rhode Island; appearing as Dr. Copellius in their annual production of Coppelia.

His television experience includes appearances on Caroline in the City, Babylon 5 and in the daytime serials All My Children and As the World Turns. Film experience includes his appearance as Philip in the Hollywood premiere of Hotel Universe.

Wil's directing credits range from Nunsense to Look Back in Anger. Under his direction, productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Everything Sprite, and Purple Breasts were chosen for competition in the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival. Everything Sprite was also chosen for performance at New York’s Village Gate and Purple Breasts was also performed in Washington, D.C. for the National Breast Cancer Conference.
