Adult and Higher Education Three Year Course Plan (2020-2022)

Adult and Higher Education Program

Three Year Course Plan (2020 - 2022)

Here is an updated version of the AHE program’s three-year course plan. There are still some unknowns as we move into the next few years that are based on Mike’s full retirement, the hiring of a new full-time faculty member to join Emily, and other potential changes. End Notes:

  1. All courses listed in this three-year plan are offered online. HRD 630 does require synchronous participation using Zoom video conference technology. The specific days and times for synchronous participation in HRD 630 will be announced in advance.

  2. EDU 600 (Introduction to Educational Research), a required course for the master’s degree, is offered fall, spring, and summer. This course is usually taught in several different formats each semester, i.e., on-campus, blended, and online. Only matriculated students can register for EDU 600 and it is best to take it early in one’s master’s program. Sections of EDU 600 tend to fill quickly so be sure to register the day registration opens for your best chance to get in.

  3. Electives taken outside of the Adult and Higher Education Program require prior approval in order to be counted toward degree completion. Please communicate with your advisor prior to registering for such courses.

  4. We shall do our best to offer courses during the semester in which they are listed above. However, there may be situations driven by enrollment patterns, faculty availability, or other matters that necessitate change. Updates with proposed changes will be communicated on a regular basis. Also, it’s usually a good idea to have a conversation with your advisor the semester prior to registering for new courses.
