Peer Study Guide Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Peer Study Guide. This online application will only take a few minutes to complete.

Peer Study Guides coordinate, promote, and facilitate weekly group study sessions for courses in which they are currently enrolled. Using best practices outlined in the training program, Peer Study Guides work collaboratively with students from their class to test memory, check for understanding, and prepare for upcoming exams or other learning assessments. Peer Study Guides also share relevant USM learning resources with students in the course to support ongoing individual student effort.

Qualifications include: overall minimum GPA of 3.0 (which must be maintained); minimum of a B average in the current course for which support will be offered; availability to participate in the virtual training program; availability to provide at least two study groups each week.

Once this form is submitted, you will be contacted by the Director of Academic Retention Initiatives, Paul Dexter, to discuss the role in further detail.
