Dr. Somerville’s research interests and leadership practice focus on bridging the divide between innovation, community, Art and education. Her research targets specific academic conditions, including teaching practices and learning environments. These conditions foster creativity and innovation for all students.  Her recent studies explore the implementation of Maker programming  within the traditional norms of formal education.
