SPRING 2021 FOUNDATION PORTFOLIO REVIEW
Art Students must submit a portfolio of their artwork to be reviewed by the Art Department faculty after completing their freshman Art foundation courses. Students select and present a body of their artwork within given guidelines for review by Art Department faculty. This process allows for identification of the student’s overall strengths and any weaknesses that must be addressed in order to matriculate within the Department of Art. The Foundation Portfolio Evaluation is a requirement for all Art Majors, excluding Art History, and is held twice a year. This celebrates the spring semester Portfolio Review.
Each portfolio follows a set of guidelines, and contains 12 submissions in five categories: three in 2-D Design, two in 3-D Design, three in Drawing, three Open Submissions, and one Self-Portrait. To see more about the Portfolio Review process click here.
This year due to the Coronavirus, Portfolios were all submitted online. Ten students submitted their portfolios for review this spring, and all ten students passed. This virtual exhibition, traditionally held in Robie Andrews' Kidder Gallery, highlights two works from each student's portfolio, representing the diverse creative voices within the Art Department's student body.
