USM Art Department

Home Studio Spaces

Open Studios has always been the place for USM Art students to share the work that they completed over the course of a semester. Although Open Studios is typically held in person on the last Friday of classes in the Gorham Art Studios, this past school year the Campus was closed to visitors due to COVID-19. So instead, we are mounting our third Virtual Open Studios as a way to share the wonderful work created by our resilient students.

This spring semester our Art students continued to study their disciplines in a variety of modalities: some totally online, others blended face to face instruction with online learning. Because of so much remote instruction, students turned dorm rooms, living rooms, and kitchen tables into home studio spaces, and were not only able to continue their studies, but to grow as creative individuals. We invite students, family, friends, and the USM community to view our Virtual Open Studios and celebrate the completion of the spring 2021 semester, as well as the successful conclusion to a school year full of unprecedented challenges. Congratulations go out to all of our amazing and resilient Art students!
