USM Art: Finding Home
For the month of May, Finding Home is on display in Westbrook River Park, featuring 12 informational steel house structures on wooden posts. The installation compels the public to regard the Presumpscot River as a home to fish and wildlife, as well as a home to the communities that live along it.
The Hearts, Minds & Homes project includes the USM School of Social Work and USM Art Department, the UMA Department of Architecture, Art at Work, and the City of Portland. Join the project team on the May 1 First Friday Art Walk in Portland!
Traci Molloy
Molloy will create collaborative artwork with the Center’s Multicultural Program, which practices a peer support model to build and strengthen community. Seven USM art students who are enrolled in Molloy’s USM Artist-in-Residence course are assisting Molloy with the artwork and attending the Center’s program to observe.
