Testing Dates for Math
USM Math Placement Exam
*Updated USM Math Proficiency Policy*
If a student submits a new SAT-Math score below 570 or an old SAT-Math score below 550, the student will be required to take the Accuplacer Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra tests in order to be placed in the appropriate math course.
If a student submits a new SAT-Math score of 570 or higher or an old SAT-Math score of 550 or higher, the student can enroll in an introductory college-level math course (MAT 105, 108, or 120). If the student would like to enroll in MAT 140 or 152, they are required to take the College Level Math Test to determine the appropriate math course placement.
*Individual Test Sessions*
Students and prospective students are encouraged to contact the department to investigate individual testing sessions. We seek to be responsive to and to accommodate individuals' schedules as much possible. Please contact Kristen Beahm 207.228.8086 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss a convenient testing date and time.

Walk-In Test Sessions for Math Placement Test and College-Level Math Test
Students may DROP IN to take their math exam during the allocated block of time listed for these test dates. No registration is necessary for walk-in sessions (noted below). The placement exam is untimed, but usually takes students approximately one hour to complete.
All students testing must bring a Photo ID. Accuplacer Exams can only be taken twice, then the student must take the course.
If a student is not able to attend one of the walk-in test dates listed below, an individualized appointment can be scheduled.
