GORHAM, Maine – For the third time this season, University of Southern Maine Huskies' freshman guard Kristen Curley (Gorham, Maine) has earned Rookie of the Week honors from the Little East Conference and the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA). Previously earning LEC Rookie of the Week honors on January 8 and January 2, Curley was the NEWBA Rookie of the Week on January 2, and December 11.
Averaging 25.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocked shots per game while shooting 57.9 percent (22-for-38) from the field and 41.7 percent (5-for-12) from three-point range, Curley helped USM to a pair of Little East Conference victories, extending Southern Maine's win streak to 4-0. In a lopsided 76-48 win at Plymouth State, Curley was 6-for-14 from the field, including 4-for-7 from three-point range, for 16 points, five rebounds, two blocked shots, a steal and an assist in 28 minutes of action.
