Hornblower Named Men's Lacrosse LEC Defensive Player of the Year

GORHAM, Maine -- For the second straight year, University of Southern Maine junior defender Sam Hornblower (Portland, Maine/Deering) has been named the Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and a first team all-conference selection when the conference office released its 2017 men's lacrosse postseason awards and all-conference teams Tuesday following a vote by the head coaches.

Hornblower is just the second player in the history of the UMS men's program to receive a major postseason award from the LEC, and the first to be a two-time winner.  He joins Dylan Kenney (2013) as the second Husky in the last five seasons to be selected the Defensive Player of the Year.
