Huskies’ Pack Chat Returns for Second Semester: January 20 (3:30-5 PM)

GORHAM, Maine  – Following a successful first semester of programming, USM Athletics, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the University's Career & Employment Hub are excited to announce the return of Husky Pack Chats for the second semester.  Huskies' Pack Chats –  informational sessions tailored specifically to student-athletes to help prepare them as they take their first steps in a job search – ran throughout the first semester and included Intro to the Career Hub, Crafting Your Resume, Critical Elements of Cover Letters; Networking & LinkedIn, Internship & Job Search Tips; and Competition to Careers: Student-Athlete Alumni Panel and Q&A. 

            The fourth in the series, the January 20th Husky Pack Chat Huskies at Work – Connecting the Interview Process with Practice will allow participants to engage, observe and practice their interview skills in a virtual setting with employer representatives, and University of Southern Maine alumni from Martins Point Healthcare, Skolfield Sports Performance, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Hannaford Brothers.  Student-Athletes will get to learn firsthand what employers are seeking to identify in its applicant pool during the interview process.  Joining the Pack Chat are Cathy Nugent, Senior Recruiter with Martin's Point Healthcare; Stan Skolfield, Owner/President of Skolfield Sports Performance; Diana Roberge, Senior Recruiter with Hannaford Brothers; and Cerena Coughlin, Special Agent, Employment Recruiter, and Applicant Coordinator with the FBI.  Of note, Nugent, Skolfeild and Roberge are University of Southern Maine alumni.
