
GORHAM, Maine – University of Southern Maine junior Sophia Slovenski (Cape Neddick, Maine) of the Huskies' women's indoor and outdoor track & field and volleyball teams will be serving as a panelist for the upcoming The Maine Girls & Women in Sports Committee virtual event: Voices of Women in Sport: Empowering Girls for Life – A Toolbox for Middle School Athletes and Beyond.
The second virtual event hosted and presented by The Maine Girls & Women in Sports Committee will take place on January 21 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm, and will feature panelists Lani Silversides, Founder of Strong Girls United Foundation; Clara Brown, Paracyclist, Team USA and Ashley Potvin-Fulford, Head Women's Rugby Coach at University of New England.

As a member of the Huskies' indoor and outdoor track & field teams, Slovenski earned 2020 United States Track & Field, Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-American and All-Region honors in the pole vault. A transfer to Southern Maine from Bowdoin College, Slovenski is studying Exercise Science and earned USTFCCA All-Academic honors during the 2019-2020 season. READ MORE
