GORHAM, Maine – While the head coaches of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' eight intercollegiate fall teams are busy evaluating, prepping and guiding their 2017 hopefuls, and the remainder of the Huskies' 22 intercollegiate sport coaches prepare for the arrival of their student-athletes, the Husky Department of Athletics is welcoming a familiar face in a new role as Jim Giroux will join the USM athletic department staff as a full-time strength and conditioning coach and fitness center coordinator. No stranger to the athletic teams in Gorham, Giroux has been a member of the coaching staff of the Huskies' perennially successful women's track and field program since 2005.
"I'm absolutely thrilled that Jim Giroux has joined our staff on a full-time basis. Jim has been part of our women's track staff for many years and we are now able to fully utilize his talents as our Strength and Conditioning Coach and Fitness Center Manager," noted Southern Maine Director of Athletics Al Bean. "Jim has great experience and is immensely knowledgeable in the area of strength training. He has a proven track record, an excellent way of working with student-athletes and will be a tremendous asset to both our athletic programs and to all of our facility users." READ MORE
