GORHAM, Maine -- Two members of the University of Southern Maine men's track and field team, seniors Jared Marshall (Gloucester, Mass.) and Jack Ricker (Conway, N.H./Kennett), are among the recipients of weekly honors announced today by the Little East Conference. Marshall was selected as the Track Athlete of the Week while Ricker was picked as the Field Athlete of the Week.
Competing at the annual State of Maine Indoor Championships held at Bowdoin College this past Saturday night, Marshall added two more titles (fifth and sixth of his career) and one meet record (total of four) to his resume. Marshall won the 60-meter hurdles, breaking the meet record twice in the process. He posted the quickest time of 8.35 seconds in the trials to break the previous meet record, then came back to win the final with a time of 8.28 seconds (equaling eighth quickest time in school history).
