GORHAM, Maine – Senior Courtney Davis(Woburn, Mass.) and sophomoresErin Martin (Biddeford, Maine) and Alexis Brown(Malden, Mass.) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' softball team have each earned post-season honors from the Little East Conference. The conference office made the announcement Thursday following a vote of LEC coaches. Martin and Brown were selected to the all-conference second team, while Davis earned first team all-conference honors for the third time in her career.
In her first full season with the Huskies, Martin made an immediate impact earning second team honors as one of the Huskies' outfielders. Named the LEC Rookie of the Week and the conference Player of the Week once during the season, Martin was among the conference leaders in several statistical categories. The Huskies' leading hitter, Martin hit .352 with a team-leading 51 hits in 145 at bats. Martin his for 14 extra base hits during the season, including seven doubles and six triples. Driving in 25 RBIs as the Huskies' lead off hitter, Martin is tied for second among the team leaders with Davis. In the LEC circuit, Martin, the Southern Maine's right fielder, finished eighth in batting average, first in hits, and first in triples, while her 25 RBIs are eighth. Martin led the conference in runs scored with 35.
