Southern Maine Basketball to Host “Think Pink” Game on Wednesday, February 12

GORHAM, Maine – Although October is the official Breast Cancer Awareness month, the "pink phenomenon" began in women's basketball during the 2004-2005 basketball season when legendary North Carolina State University coach Kay Yow's cancer returned after being in remission for 17 years. Since then basketball teams across the country have dedicated a game during their season to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer research. 

            On Wednesday, February 12, the Southern Maine Huskies are excited to unite players, coaches, and fans to do something bigger than wins and losses on the court with its THINK PINK game during its Little East Conference basketball doubleheader with the Plymouth State University Panthers.
