Dr. Chris Maher began her field study of the woodchucks at Maine Audubon's Gilsland Farm in 1998. Traditionally, woodchucks are viewed as anti-social animals but, after 15 years of fieldwork, Dr. Maher has found that the woodchucks at the farm in Falmouth, ME, are more social than most! Her research on these adorable furry creatures was featured in the Maine Audubon March-May 2013 newsletter.
