USM alumna oversees dam removal, salt marsh restoration

Shri Verrill, who earned her M.S. in Biology from USM, is the habitat restoration project manager at Downeast Salmon Federation. She recently led efforts to remove a dam on Smelt Brook in Sullivan, Maine, enabling marine fish to access freshwater spawning habitats and restoring salt marsh in the area.
