Sandra Barry is a multidisciplinary artist that integrates her curiosity of nature, innate love of history and textiles to inspire her creative process and visual storytelling. Her immersion in nature provides a continual platform to weave together a new dialogue between the beauty that surrounds us and materials that we live with. She is known for transcending materials into new forms, from altered books to reconstructed marine inspired clothing.
Sandra received a BA in Art & Entrepreneurship, with a concentration in sculpture and a minor in book arts from University of Southern Maine. She is a current member of the University of Southern Maine Kate Cheney Chappell ‘83 Center for Book Arts Critique Group and was a Monson Arts’ resident in Monson, Maine in 2018.
Sandra was honored to have a solo artist book show “Above & Below: Garden’s Grow” at the Pope-Cheney Arts Studio at the Wishcamper Center, University of Southern Maine. Her work has been exhibited in group shows at the Center Street Gallery, Bath, Maine, Portland Public Library, Lewis Gallery, Glickman Family Library, Maine Center for Entrepreneur Design, Portland, Maine, and the Maine Fiberarts Gallery in Topsham, Maine.
