DESCRIPTION:Of Sibyls and Source: Ranges & Ruptures is an exhibition of videos\, textiles\, installations\, and live performances that investigate ideas surrounding oracles\, land\, community\, mapping and geo-mythic space. Together\, the artists tell stories and create experiences that invite alternative ways of being with each other and place. \nOf Sibyls and Source: Ranges & Ruptures is a collection of work made in dialogue with the sites of Monti Sibillini National Park\, Umbria\, Italy\, and Acadia National Park. These creative gestures tenderly explore the possibility in timespace for mountains to kiss\, for springs to flow through each other\, and for horizons to merge. \n\n\nJoin us for the Exhibition Opening on Thursday February 5th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm in the Crewe Center for the Arts Great Hall Gallery. The exhibition explores how human connection helps us endure and transform experiences of pain\, loss\, and crisis. Rooted in Bruun’s deeply personal body of work—dozens of drawings and paintings created since the 2014 overdose death of his daughter—the project invites the University and greater Portland communities into a shared space of reflection\, storytelling\, and creative expression.
