His work was the finalist for The National Book Award and won The Los Angeles Times Book Award\, The Anisfield-Wolf Book Award\, The National Jewish Book Award\, the Guggenheim Fellowship\, The Whiting Award\, the American Academy of Arts and Letters’ Metcalf Award\, Lannan Fellowship\, Academy of American Poets’ Fellowship\, NEA Fellowship\, Poetry magazine’s Levinson Prize\, and was also shortlisted for National Book Critics Circle Award\, Neustadt International Literature Prize\, and T.S. For more than 30 years\, his studio practice has fueled projects that bring art into conversation with social justice\, collaboration\, and collective care—ranging from exhibitions and public programs to experimental publications and artist-led organizations. \nAs part of his residency\, Peter will host open Office Hours in his Academy Building studio throughout the spring semester. Students are encouraged to stop by to talk about artwork\, creative process\, career paths\, organizing\, or anything else on your mind.
