USM and SME are co-sponsoring DigiFab '13, a conference and trade show focused specifically on digital fabrication in all of it's manifestations, including 3D printing, 3D scanning/reverse engineering, CNC manufacturing, CAD & 3D design, etc. The day-long conference will be held starting at 8:00 am in the Abromson Center at USM's Portland Campus on November 1st, 2013. Ms. Sherry Lassiter from MIT's Center for Bits and Atoms will deliver a keynote address, describing the future of 3D technologies and how they are using this tech in CBA and in MIT's worldwide network of FabLabs. Two tracks of talks will follow, including a track for industry and a track for educators looking to gain more information on how their schools and students can benefit from this technology.
