The Career & Employment Hub office is a resource to multiple audiences:
Students: The USM Career & Employment Hub assists students in connecting to their future. We offers students a variety of services from their first day on campus to years after they graduate. Our focus is on students and assisting them in getting connected to the greater community whether that be via an internship, job shadow, informational interview, part-time or full-time employment, connecting them with a community partner or preparing for graduate school.
The Career & Employment Hub offers the following services: Exploring Majors to Possible Careers, taking assessments like the MBTI, Holland Code or StrengthsFinder. Developing a Resume, Cover Letter or LinkedIn Account, finding opportunities through Individual Appointments, Internship Matching Fairs, Job Fairs, Professional Bootcamps, and Workshops. We assist students in cultivating professional experiences through Work Study, Internships, Part-time/ Full-time Employment, Job Shadows, Informational Interviews, Community Career Connections and assist students in understanding what employers want from college graduates.
Community Partners: Our commitment is to mobilize USM students, faculty, and staff to address community-identified needs in partnerships marked by respect, reciprocity, and mutual benefit. We can connect you with our faculty about service-learning experiences, as well as help you find student interns, employees, or volunteers.
Faculty and Staff: We are here to help develop community connections for you and your students. You can use us as a resource for assisting in service-learning experiences, finding internship site placements, and preparing students for entering the workforce.
