Recreation and Leisure Studies Overview

The Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies offers a student-focused baccalaureate degree in recreation and leisure studies, with a concentration in therapeutic recreation. In addition, there are minors in recreation leadership, nature tourism, and disability studies.
The Mission of the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies is to inculcate students enrolled in Therapeutic Recreation (TR) with the knowledge and skill sets required to become certified recreation therapists, to enhance the ability to provide competent wellness and health care services, and to instill an ethos of commitment to collaborate and to advance the profession.
