Assistant Professor of Film Studies Ariel Rogers' book, Cinematic Appeals: The Experience of New Movie Technologies, is now available from Columbia University Press. The book examines how the experience of cinema has been conceptualized in conjunction with new technologies, including widescreen and 3D in the 1950s, digital cinema in the 1990s, and digital 3D since 2005.
