The Department of Media Studies at the University of Southern Maine will sponsor a screening of the film “When You’ve Got It, You’ve Got It” on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. in Talbot Auditorium on USM’s Portland campus.

Pierson and Ives at Community Television Network Telethon
David Pierson, professor of Media Studies, and Nat Ives, manager of the Communication and Media Studies Production Studio, will serve as live on-air hosts for USM Videos as part of the First Annual CTN (Community Television Network) Telethon on Saturday, September 23 from 7:00 to 8:00 AM. The station is located at 516 Congress Street, Portland, Maine.
USM alumna searching for common ground in gun control discussion with documentary
USM alumna and filmmaker Vickie Morgan hopes to find new insight in the gun control debate by getting people to talk. Morgan plans to direct an as-yet-untitled documentary in which a group of people from both sides of the divisive issue will talk about their differences with each other and Maine psychologist Dr. Kevin Polk.
USM presents 2017 Academic Film Showcase on May 10
A collection of dramatic short films created by student filmmakers at the University of Southern Maine will be presented on May 10 at the 2017 Academic Film Showcase. The free public event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Talbot Lecture Hall, located in Luther Bonney Hall on USM's Portland Campus.
