USM Ecologist's Research Key in Maine's Decision to Reopen River to Alewives

Thanks in part to research performed by USM ecologist Theo Willis, Maine has reopened the St. Croix river to alewives. As explained in this Public Radio International article, this decision could possibly restore tens of millions of fish to the Atlantic food chain. A potentially amazing recovery for a fish that was being considered for listing as an endangered species!
