Chronic Disease Epidemiologists present at National Epidemiology Conference

Staff from USM’s Chronic Disease Epidemiology group (embedded at the Maine CDC) attended the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) annual conference in Raleigh, NC in June where Caitlin Pizzonia presented a poster highlighting a map series showing how and where late-stage female breast cancer incidence can be reduced in Maine. Cutler staff Caitlin Pizzonia, Denise Yob, and Sara Huston contributed to the poster. The poster tied for the 2019 CSTE Outstanding Poster Presentation Award for Chronic Disease/MCH/Oral Health.

Also at the conference, Pamela Foster Albert gave a presentation on “Sex Differences in Risk Factors for Suicide Ideation among Maine High School Students, 2009-2017”. Cutler staff Pamela Foster Albert and Erika Lichter contributed to the presentation.
