Kim Fox shared findings from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded Cost-of-Care project at several events recently. This formative study developed and piloted health care provider and consumer tools in six Maine primary care practices to facilitate cost conversations related to low-back pain treatment using publicly available information on CompareMaine.
On May 22, Ms. Fox presented the project’s findings to the funder and other Cost-of-Care Conversations grantees in
Washington, D.C. She also presented on a Maine Quality Counts webinar, "Enhancing Cost-of-Care Conversations for Low Back Pain Treatment Using Publicly Reported Cost Information" on May 30 and showcased a poster at the State Health Policy Interest Group Pre-Conference Session, AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting on June 23 in Seattle, WA. A recording of the webinar is available.
The project team includes Carolyn Gray, Martha Elbaum Williamson, and Jennifer MacKenzie, in partnership with Maine Quality Counts and Maine Health Data Organization.
