Sonja Howard is the Director of Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network. The MRTQ PDN is a large project focusing on the practitioners working in the early care and education field, birth through grade 3. Her role is to direct all projects and activities within this network. Sonja has over 38 years of experience in the field of early childhood education. She has been director and assistant director of two lab schools in Maine; at UMF and Westbrook College (now UNE.) She worked for several years to support programs in obtaining national accreditation. She has been a family child care provider and has many years of experience supporting and training family child care providers. In the past, she has enjoyed being an adjunct faculty member for UMF, UNE, SMTC, and EMTC teaching a variety of courses. Additionally, Sonja has worked for Head Start as a program manager for center based and home based options.
