Tam supports the Cutler team that runs the Violence Against Women Act Measuring Effectiveness Initiative (VAWA MEI). She fields queries from federal grantees, compiles monthly financial reports, and assists with other elements of the team’s work, from the website to marketing materials to training events.
Before working at USM, Tam worked in newsrooms (most recently, as web editor of the Daily Hampshire Gazette of Northampton, Mass.), at community colleges as an Institutional Research analyst and as a project assistant on federally-funded programs, and, when time allowed, as a call center agent for one of the nation’s most esteemed flower-bulb catalog companies. She’s delighted to return to Maine, where she first lived in the early 1990s.
Areas of Expertise
Tam brings the initiative and discipline of the newsroom (writing, editing, layout, deadline-drive project management), the analytical approach of a higher ed researcher, and the big ears of a trained customer service agent to the Cutler Institute. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of New Hampshire and remains a lifelong learner.
