Workshop on Public Engagement

The Data Innovation Project and the Muskie School of Public Service hosted Professor Eric Gordon, Director of the Emerson Engagement Lab at Emerson College, for a three-hour workshop titled “Effective Public Engagement in the Digital Age.”  This successful workshop was attended by over 50 people, mostly from the public and nonprofit sector across southern Maine, as well as Muskie graduate students.  The workshop was geared to helping community organizations think through and implement effective public engagement strategies.  Participants had the chance to look at their organization’s approach to engagement in fresh and creative ways: through a lecture, team problem solving and brainstorming, a game, and creating a “Roadmap” to help participants visualize their public engagement strategies
