Profile

Zach joined the Maine Rural Health Research Center team in 2010 and contributes to all phases of the research process from project design to data collection and analysis. His recent work has focused on a range of health policy topics including rural long term services and supports; rural health clinic practice transformation; the experience of care and health status of children enrolled in MaineCare; hospital patient safety and quality improvement; rural telepsychiatry; the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program, and implementation of health reform in rural areas. Prior to joining the Cutler Institute, Zach worked at RTI International where he examined the consistency of payment incentives, resource usage, and outcomes for populations treated in acute and various post-acute care settings.

 

Areas of Expertise

Rural health policy; population health; access to health care services for vulnerable populations; and rural hospital patient safety, quality improvement, and community benefit activities.
