Chinonye worked as an Optometrist in Nigeria for 2.5 years, during which she uncovered public health issues and applied foundational principles to address them. Given her interest in public health and data analysis, she completed a Master of Public Health degree in 2019 and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in business analytics.

Her skills are diverse as she works with large claims databases, including Maine All Payers Claims Databases (APCD), Medicare and Medicaid claims data, and self-reported hospital data to contribute to public health research. She supports other researchers in developing programming codes to analyze quantitative data and apply statistical methods. Some of the projects she is involved in include the New Hampshire Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program (DSRIP) Evaluation, Maine Care (OMS) data analytics, Maine MOM data linkage, suicide-related emergency department visits, State-University Partnership Learning Network (SUPLN) and Medicaid Outcomes Distributed Research Network (MODRN), Partnership for Children’s Oral Health (PCOH) reporting, and the Maine Quality Forum (MQF) project.
