Gina Forbes is a parent, early childhood educator, and educational consultant with a background in early childhood development, trauma-informed practices, community education, and non-profit administration. While teaching and learning alongside young children have always been integral parts of Gina’s life, they first pursued a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology at Simmons College in Boston. Gina later went on to get a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Goddard College in Vermont, and they have been teaching preschool-aged children for more than 10 years, most notably at Roots and Fruits Preschool where they were also Director of the Program.

Gina currently serves on the board of the Maine Association for the Education of Young Children and is a member of the Affiliate Advisory Council of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Her work centers on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for all, with a unique lens on the LGBTQIA+ community.

Gina lives in Brunswick, Maine with her family.
