Nicole Siffrinn holds a PhD in Language and Literacy Education from the University of Georgia where she also earned an Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies Graduate Certificate. Her teaching and research focus on adolescent literacy, linguistic approaches to disciplinary instruction, and writing as inquiry. Drawing from poststructural and post-qualitative theories, Dr. Siffrinn explores the micropolitics of youth and practitioner-led literacy research in schools. In particular, her work aims to create space with and for teachers and young people whose ways of knowing, doing, and being have been systemically minoritized. Dr. Siffrinn is especially interested in how intergenerational collaboration between teachers and youth can support a persistent critique and
rebuilding of what counts as literacy in schools and what counts as research in the broader field of education.
