Profile

Lisa Walker, Associate Professor of English, joined USM in 1995. She holds a Master’s degree and a PhD from Louisiana State University. She is the Director of the Women and Gender Studies Program. She has published on models of minority sexual identities in her book Looking Like What You Are: Sexual Style, Race and Lesbian Identity (2001), and essays in Sexualities, Signs, and Tulsa Studies in Women’s Literature. Her research interests include femininity, fashion theory, and beauty culture in American literature.
