Lorna Hughes, Ph.D. has taught at the University of Southern Maine and the University of Maine at Farmington for the past 18 years. Before coming to the University of Maine system, she taught at Colby College. Until 2015 she taught adult literacy in adult education and previously in the “New Books, New Readers” and the “Let’s Talk About It” programs sponsored by the Maine Humanities Council. She received her master’s degree in Anglo-Irish Literature from University College Dublin (Ireland) and her doctoral degree in Irish Literature and Culture from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland).
