Profile

Lynn Eckersley-Ray, Ph. D., is a Lecturer in the Department of English whose specialties
include 18C British Literature, literary theory with an emphasis in gender and queer
theory, and film studies. She currently teaches ENG 140: Reading Literature and 145:
Topics in Literature, and has also taught ENG 100, 104, 120, and 150 as well. She has been
a Visiting Assistant Professor at Bates College, a Visiting Lecturer at Bryn Mawr College,
and a Lecturer at the University of New England and Lehigh University. She received her
Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University (1998), and her MA and BA from Lehigh
University (1991; 1989). She has published work in The Eighteenth Century Novel, The
Scriblerian, The Reader’s Guide to Lesbian and Gay Studies, and The New Dictionary of
National Biography.
